ICMOS's infrared eyes reveal OMC-1, the giant molecular cloud at the heart of the Orion Nebula. For comparison, the same area in the WFPC2 image on the left appears relatively dim and featureless.

he dust-obscured heart of the Egg Nebula is shown on the left as it appears in visible light with WFPC2, and on the right as it appears in infrared light with NICMOS.
